I LOVE cereal.
I’m dead serious. One of my prized past times is going to HEB and finding a new one to try. And there are some star players out there! (Check back on National Cereal Day, March 7, for my full, appreciative list)
Taylor, one of my lovely roommates and style star (she just became a Modcloth Ambassador!) introduced me to Special K Red Berries and it’s seriously the bomb.com. In fact, it’s SO good, it can be repurposed as a creamy muesli-porridge in just a few minutes.
In fact, you can do this with just about any “flake” cereal. All it takes is throwing 1 cup into a food processor along side 1/4 cup of milk (soy, fat-free, goats milk, etc) and placing the mixture it in a serving bowl with another 1/4 cup of milk. Then, let the entire mixture chill in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes to thicken and voilà! Cereal repurposed.
You can even add some extra fruit during the processing phase for additional sweetness- I used about 2 strawberries in the mix and sliced an additional one on top. Oh and I snuck in some mini chocolate chips, which are always fantastic. At any rate, the task is yours! Happy cereal-ing!
Creamy Dreamy Cereal Muesli
1 cup of flake cereal
1/2 cup milk, divided (plus more if desired)
1/4 cup chopped fruit (optional)
Blend cereal, 1/4 cup of milk, and chopped fruit (if using) in a food processor until creamy. Place mixture into a bowl, stir in the remaining 1/4 cup of milk, and place in the refrigerator for 5 minutes. Top with any additional milk or fruit for your perfect breakfast companion. (This is very nice warm, too!)
